• Completed Tool and Die Apprenticeship or 10+ years of equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

Tool and Die Maker

OTTO – designed, manufactured and precision tested, right here in the USA.

OTTO’s opportunity:

Our Tool and Die Maker will lead tool development and debug of new dies.

Specifically, the Tool and Die Maker will:

• Keep a clean and safe work area
• Understand tool steels and production material
• Work from blueprints and CAD data to construct, alter or repair tools
• Operate Tool Room equipment
• Fabricate tooling in stamping department
• Maintain proper tooling records for preventative maintenance
• Setup dies, material feeds, and operate the punch press to trial tools
• Debug and troubleshoot new tooling for part approval process
• Assist in Die changeovers
• Assist with other related duties as required or assigned.

What you’ll need to bring to the table:

• Completed Tool and Die Apprenticeship or 10+ years of equivalent experience
• 5-7 years of experience as a Tool and Die Maker with troubleshooting skills
• Expert in Blue-Print reading with GDT
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of SPC
• Ability to lift and move 50 lbs. with assistance as necessary
• Ability to push 200lbs. on wheeled carts with assistance as necessary
• Ability to use various inspection equipment
• Must be available for mandatory overtime or non-standard or extended work schedule
• CNC Mill and EDM experience is a plus
