Job description

Job Title: Technician


FLSA STATUS: Non-Exempt


Pay Range: The base pay generally ranges between $26 - $35/hr. Factors such as geographical location, relevant experience, education, and skill level may impact the pay for this position.

General Summary: Maintain efficient and safe operations of all equipment, machinery, and building facilities to support the DRiV manufacturing plant or ensure manufactured parts meet compliance standards. This role requires a subject matter expert capable of performing advanced technical and mechanical duties that may require specific training, licenses, or certifications. Notify the Operations Supervisor of any issues impacting production, and adhere to safety, health, and environmental guidelines.

  • Job Reports To: Maintenance Supervisor
  • Direct Reports: None

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide technician support for manufacturing maintenance and repair, including Robotics, CNC, Tooling, Wire EDM, Facilities, Mechanical, Electrical, Machine Operations, Tool & Die, or Quality Assurance, meeting specific training requirements.
  • Perform scheduled preventive maintenance and coordinate measurements of PPAP, completing safety checklists and ensuring safety and quality standards.
  • Locate, troubleshoot, and repair machinery breakdowns to reduce downtime, ensure conformity and quality of parts, and update building facilities as needed.
  • Promptly report quality issues and shut down equipment if unresolved.
  • Identify process and equipment inefficiencies and suggest improvements.
  • Perform other tasks consistent with knowledge and training.

Job Requirements:

  • Education: Successful completion of high school is highly preferred; additional training or certification may be required.
  • Skill Requirements: Support levels include Associate, Core, and Senior, with increasing complexity and independence. Support includes completing necessary training, working under supervision, and providing guidance to lower-level technicians.

Physical Requirements: Climbing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, bending, standing, handling materials, manipulating objects, vision requirements, and lifting objects up to 100 lbs frequently.


Additional Area-Specific Responsibilities:

  • Tool & Die Maker: Learn, build, and repair close-tolerance tool and die components, perform grinding, lathe work, milling, basic welding, and hand work, and repair dies.
