Job Summary

Under limited supervision, the Tool & Die Maker is responsible for troubleshooting injection mold issues, conducting preventative maintenance practices, and recommending and executing continuous improvement for injection molds. The Tool & Die Maker must have incredible attention to detail, be excellent at multi-tasking, be extremely organized, possess a high-energy, empathetic, positive attitude, and work well independently and with others.

Job Description

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES

• Maintain and repair existing tooling for production, demonstrating proper knowledge of tool/die, timing, and rework techniques.
• Set up and operate machine tools, such as lathes, milling machines, and grinders, to machine parts, and verify conformance of machined parts to specifications.
• Study specifications, such as blueprints, sketches, models, or descriptions, and visualize the product to determine materials required and machines to be used to fabricate parts.
• Maintain and efficiently perform production assignments/expectations from supervisor within the allotted time per the production schedule.
• Report breakdown root causes, equipment faults, and concerns to management.
• Ensure all work is undertaken to a high-quality standard and adheres to all quality standard regulations.

Minimum Job Requirements

Education

• HS Diploma or Equivalent

Work Experience

• 5 – 7 years of manufacturing experience with at least 2 years using molding equipment

Certification / Licensure

• Master Molder II or equivalent

Knowledge / Skills / Abilities

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with frequent communication with others in the shop.
• Knowledge of injection molding machines and support equipment required.

Preferred Job Requirements

• 5 years of tool & die experience
• Successful completion of Journeyman Tool Maker training through an accredited institution or equivalent
