Job summary

The Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority seeks a Toll Road Control Room Operator in McLean, VA to help ensure safe and smooth operation of the Dulles Toll Road. You will monitor toll lanes, coordinate incident responses, and communicate with police, safety patrol, and PSCC during emergencies.

The role requires strong communication, calm under pressure, and data interpretation, along with a high school diploma and a valid state driver’s license.

Qualifications

• One year of progressively responsible experience in a control room setting.
• Knowledge of and ability to apply accepted communication procedures and radio terminology.
• Ability to communicate complex information clearly and make decisions in emergencies.
• Ability to analyze data and recommend immediate solutions.
• Proficient in speaking and writing; capable with modern office software.

Responsibilities

• Receives and briefs operators on events, accidents, and system issues.
• Uses the DTR Infinity Toll Management System to monitor 48 toll lanes.
• Keeps aware of equipment, traffic, and weather status around the DTR.
• Maintains and troubleshoots communications equipment and consoles.
• Documents malfunctions and coordinates with technicians and supervisors.
• Coordinates incident responses with PSCC, Police, SSP, and others during emergencies.
• Acts as primary contact during power outages and peak periods.
