Job summary

Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority seeks a Ramp Tower Controller to manage aircraft ground movements, coordinate taxiing, and supervise ramp operations. You will dispatch mobile lounges and assign remote parking while maintaining logs and ensuring safety across Dulles Airport ramp areas.

The role requires multi-source data coordination, effective communication, and ability to work in a 24/7 shift environment, including weekends and holidays.

Qualifications

  • Four years of progressively responsible experience controlling aircraft movements on the ground or in the air at a major airport; OR qualified as a controller for FAA, US Military, or ramp control tower; OR CFR Part 121 pilot; OR AT-CTI degree.
  • Ability to perform basic analyses of data and information.
  • Skill in coordinating and prioritizing multiple information sources.
  • Ability to speak and write effectively.
  • Proficient in using computer, work order, and time/attendance systems.
  • Ability to work as a team member.

Responsibilities

  • Directs movement of aircraft on ramps and taxi lanes per LOA with Dulles ops.
  • Instructs arriving aircraft for taxiing to pre-assigned gates.
  • Approves push-backs and gives taxi instructions for orderly traffic.
  • Dispatches mobile lounges to transport passengers safely.
  • Assigns remote parking and logs information in the gate book.
  • Reports safety hazards and airfield issues.
  • Coordinates maintenance and system readiness.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
