Qualifications

• Love of small children.
• Loving and nurturing.
• Friendly and enthusiastic demeanor with strong work ethic and teamwork.
• High School Diploma, GED, or higher (degree in early childhood or CDA preferred).
• CPR and First Aid certifications.
• Meets local child care regulatory requirements.
• Previous teaching or assistant teaching in licensed program preferred.
• Knowledge of social, emotional, and creative needs of young children.
• Good oral and written communication.
• Able to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Willingness to attend training and staff meetings.

Responsibilities

• Oversee supervision and daily class functions for a group of children.
• Follow La Mère Academy rules and regulatory health and safety standards.
• Assess each child’s developmental needs regularly.
• Implement approved lesson plans and daily classroom schedule.
• Plan parent-teacher conferences and student evaluations with Leadership Team.
• Maintain a clean, engaging classroom encouraging exploration and confidence.
• Provide clear expectations and positive reinforcement for behavior.
• Attend required staff meetings and school functions.
• Maintain professional appearance per Employee Handbook.
