Job summary

Wilmington Preschool of the Arts is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support toddlers and the lead teacher in the classroom. The position requires a high school diploma or GED, the ability to pass all background checks, and prior childcare center experience; college coursework or an associate degree is preferred.

Required shift is Monday–Friday, 8:15am–5:15pm, with compensation of $13-15 per hour based on education and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Background checks must be passed.
• Experience in a childcare center preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher with classroom activities and goals.
• Implement activities to promote emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction and incorporate feedback to improve the program.
• Maintain a clean and safe environment for all children.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Physical ability to work around small children and lift up to 40 lbs.
