Job summary

Wilmington Preschool of the Arts is hiring for a full-time childcare position. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, or an AA in Early Childhood Education or higher, and the ability to pass background checks.

Shifts are Monday through Friday, 8am to 5pm, with compensation of $16–$18 per hour based on education and experience. Join a family-friendly team offering benefits, training, and growth opportunities.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans a week in advance using current curriculum guides.
  • Implement weekly lesson plans covering all areas of child development according to classroom schedule.
  • Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
  • Ensure safety and well-being of each child and maintain a clean, organized classroom.
  • Maintain child assessments and portfolios and conduct parent/teacher conferences in Nov and May.
  • Physical ability to work around young children; lift up to 40 lbs.

AA in Early Childhood Education (ECE) or higher

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED, AA in ECE or higher and the ability to pass all background checks. Aplusif you have previous childcare experience!

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 8am-5pm

Compensation: $16-18/hr; based on education and experience.

Our Hiring Process:

Main Job Responsibilities:
  • Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
  • Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carryout lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Useour parent communication appefficiently.
  • Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
  • Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; andmaintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
  • Maintaina child assessment and portfoliofor each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
  • Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing,walking,running,and climbing stairs.
  • Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
  • Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
