Job summary

Wilmington Preschool of the Arts is seeking Lead Teachers for Toddlers, Preschool, and Pre-K to join our family-oriented childcare center.

Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, or an AA in Early Child Education or higher; background checks are required. The position is Monday–Friday, 8:00am–5:00pm, with a pay range of $16–$18/hour depending on education and experience.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED, AA in ECE or higher.
• Ability to pass all background checks.
• Childcare experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Prepare developmentally appropriate weekly lesson plans using current curriculum.
• Implement lesson plans across all areas of child development and maintain routines.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Ensure safety and well-being of each child and maintain an organized classroom.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios; conduct biannual conferences.
• Carry out daily classroom duties related to the care of children and physical activities.
• Fulfill all physical requirements of the role, including lifting up to 40 lbs.
