Wilmington Preschool of the Arts is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support toddlers in a licensed childcare setting. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, background checks, and prior childcare experience.

• High school diploma or GED is required, plus the ability to pass all background checks and prior experience in a childcare center.
• Completion of college coursework or an associate's degree is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in all classroom aspects in alignment with the center’s philosophy and goals.
• Implement activities that foster growth in emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept feedback, and implement improvements to enhance program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean, safe classroom environment.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality child care.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around young children (sitting, standing, walking, running, stairs).
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs as needed.
