Job summary

Wilmington Preschool of the Arts is seeking an Assistant Teacher to support toddlers in a licensed childcare setting. The role requires a high school diploma or GED, background checks, and prior childcare experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist the lead teacher in all classroom aspects in alignment with the center’s philosophy and goals.
• Implement activities that foster growth in emotional, social, cognitive, creative, and physical development.
• Take direction, accept feedback, and implement improvements to enhance program quality.
• Create and maintain a clean, safe classroom environment.
• Establish professional rapport with families to provide quality child care.
• Demonstrate physical ability to work around young children (sitting, standing, walking, running, stairs).
• Lift and carry up to 40 lbs as needed.

Wilmington Preschool of the Arts is a licensed childcare center seeking Assistant Teachers to support tthe following age groups:

• Toddlers

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require a high school diploma OR GED, the ability to pass all background checks, and previous experience working in a childcare center. Completion of college level coursework or an associate's degree is preferred.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, 8:15am - 5:15pm

Compensation: $13-15 per hour, based on education and experience
