Vance-Granville Community College is seeking a Child Care Specialist Assistant to support daily care and teaching activities for toddlers. This onsite role reports to the Child Care Manager and Director of the Child Care Center, focusing on 1- and 2-year-olds with routines, sensory play, and individualized attention.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field, or an Associates Degree and NC Child Care Credential, or 12 semester hours in ECE.
• Must pass local, state, and federal background checks.
• Must submit a health statement and a TB test at time of employment; CPR/First Aid within 90 days.
• Must be physically able to lift and care for toddlers and manage a busy classroom.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, one-on-one attention to toddlers and support self-help routines.
• Lead age-appropriate activities when the lead teacher is occupied.
• Assist with diapering, feeding, and health/sanitation procedures.
• Maintain child files and documentation of progress and attendance.
