Job summary

River Road Early Learning Center is seeking a caring, dependable Assistant Toddler Teacher to join our early childhood team. This role supports the Lead Teacher in creating a safe, nurturing environment for children aged 16 months to 2 years and helps daily routines run smoothly.

The ideal candidate is patient, punctual, and collaborative, with experience with toddlers and a desire to grow in early childhood education. A high school diploma is required; an associate degree or CDA is preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Associates degree or higher preferred.
• Experience with toddlers or young children preferred.
• CDA or coursework in Early Childhood Education is a plus.
• Ability to lift up to 40 pounds and engage with children.
• Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
• Pass all required background checks.

Responsibilities

• Assist Lead Teacher by supporting daily schedules and routines.
• Supervise children and build warm, responsive relationships.
• Prepare and clean learning spaces before and after activities.
• Support children’s physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development.
• Follow licensing regulations and center policies; maintain safety.
