Diocese of Grand Rapids is hiring a full-time assistant teacher for toddlers (ages 1-2) at St. John Vianney Early Childhood Center. St. John Vianney Early Childhood Center is seeking a full time toddler 1s (ages 1-2) assistant teacher to join our team. We are seeking someone who has experience working with children in a childcare setting or educational setting. An ideal candidate is someone who will establish a nurturing environment for children, maintain safe learning and play environments, and design developmentally appropriate and engaging activities.

Job Responsibilities

• Care for and track child daily activities (diapering, meals, naps, etc.)
• Lesson/activity planning
• Perform annual child development assessments
• Support students with special or individualized needs
• Maintain a safe and clean classroom environment
• Maintain a safe learning and play environment
• Establish and maintain a nurturing and welcoming rapport with children and families

Candidate Requirements

• Completed or actively pursuing bachelor’s degree in early childhood education or similar field (preferred)
• Completed or actively pursuing Child Development Associate (CDA) (preferred)
• Experience working with children in a childcare setting or educational setting
• Pediatric First Aid & CPR certification
• Ability to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours a week- typically 8:30am-5:30pm.
• Must be able to lift children for diapering, strollers, into playground swings, etc.
