Job summary

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques preferred.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Ability to use technical information to solve problems.
• Must meet minimum age requirements to perform specific job functions.
• Must be accredited by a food safety authority or will be required to achieve accreditation within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manage Food Lion To Go operations, including hiring, training and developing department associates.
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provides ongoing performance management.
• Maintain effective work schedules for Food Lion To Go associates to meet business traffic requirements of online orders.
• Provide leadership within the store to promote our Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy.
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results.
• Proactively partner with department managers to ensure fresh orders and proper stock handling.
• Ensure return-to-stock items are handled promptly, especially refrigerated and perishable items.
• Role model outstanding customer service and use product knowledge to meet customer expectations.
• Control store expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies and equipment.
• Understand and utilize company tools such as financial reports, scheduling, productivity, and inventory systems.
• Maintain department appearance, quality, sanitation and workplace safety.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations.
• Observe and correct unsafe conditions and report accidents.
• Provide recognition and constructive counseling to maintain customer satisfaction and store sales.
• Support Front End operations as needed, greet customers, assist with orders to cars, and report equipment issues.
