Job summary

Food Lion is seeking a Store Operations leader to manage Food Lion To Go operations and lead a team of department associates. You will hire, train and develop staff while ensuring excellent customer service and efficient on-line order fulfillment.

The role requires strong knowledge of store operations, adherence to safety and quality standards, and the ability to drive financial and operational results in a busy retail environment.

Qualifications

• High school graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to lead and manage a team.
• Strong understanding of store operations and merchandising techniques.
• Excellent interpersonal, organizational, communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements of the job.
• Accreditation as a Certified Food Safety Manager or willingness to attend training within the first 90 days.

Responsibilities

• Manages the Food Lion To Go operations, including hiring, training and developing department associates
• Supervise the performance of all duties and responsibilities of department associates and provides ongoing performance management, training and conducts timely formal performance appraisals for direct reports
• Maintain effective work schedules for Food Lion To Go associates to meet business traffic requirements of on-line orders to minimize customer inconvenience, including assigning activities to associates during idle time
• Providing leadership and motivation within the store to promote a culture reflective of our Guiding Principles, Core Values, Vision and Strategy
• Support the achievement of budgeted financial and operating results
• Proactively partner with department managers to ensure fresh orders, particularly those with out of stocks are handled properly
• Ensure return-to-stock items are handled in a prompt and orderly manner with the most immediate attention given to refrigerated and perishable items
• Role model outstanding, friendly customer service and use skills and knowledge of department products to offer solutions that meet or exceed customers' expectations
• Controls store's expenses through proper ordering, care for supplies and equipment
