Job summary

Meridian Title Corporation in New Buffalo, MI seeks a detail-oriented Title Processor to support pre-closing activities for single-family and small multifamily transactions.

You will review contracts, collect documents, scan files, and coordinate with escrow teams to ensure timely closings while maintaining high accuracy in title commitments.

Experience with ResWare is preferred; state notary and a title insurance license may be required depending on location.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent with four years of escrow experience or an equivalent education/experience mix.
• State notary certificate and an active limited title insurance license if required by the state.

Responsibilities

• Reviews Purchase Agreement or Contract for Sale and checks accuracy.
• Requests required documents or information from parties and processes deposits when needed.
• Scans incoming documents within 24 hours for processing.
• Initiates actions for outstanding documents and clears title per closing timelines.
• Monitors voicemail and responds promptly, coordinating with teammates.
• Reviews title commitment for vesting, description, and taxes.
• Consults with examiner/lender to reconcile discrepancies.
• Schedules closings and assigns escrow staff as needed.
• Reviews files for completion and updates payoffs/taxes.
• Maintains due dates and processing actions in ResWare.
• Reviews and approves general POA and deeds prepared externally.
• Responds to customer inquiries on pre-closing issues.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
