Job summary

California State University, Monterey Bay seeks a Director of Civil Rights and Title IX to lead the campus Title IX and non-discrimination program. The role oversees investigations, training, and prevention efforts, ensuring policy compliance and sensitive handling of matters across the campus community.

The Director will supervise staff, collaborate with Human Resources and other offices, and report to university leadership while maintaining on‑campus presence and strategic program development.

Qualifications

• Master’s degree in social work, psychology, higher education administration or related field.
• Minimum of five years of progressively responsible supervisory or management experience in higher education.
• Knowledge of Title IX and non-discrimination laws; experience with investigations.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Title IX Coordinator and DHR Prevention Administrator, handling investigations and training.
• Oversee investigations of complaints and draft detailed reports.
• Coordinate with HR and campus offices to resolve issues and provide conflict resolution.
• Develop and deliver education, training, and outreach on nondiscrimination and harassment prevention.
• Hire, train, supervise staff and manage annual strategic plan and budget.
