Job summary

California State University, Office of the Chancellor is hiring a Systemwide Senior Director for Civil Rights to ensure consistent policy interpretation and support across CSU campuses. The role focuses on Title IX, Title VI/Discrimination, and DHR programming, providing guidance, oversight, and subject‑matter expertise on compliance and education.

Qualifications

• Master's degree or JD or equivalent combination of education and work experience.
• Minimum of 5 years of related experience in Title IX, Title VI, Title VII, VAWA, FEHA, and civil rights compliance and programming.
• Expertise in implementing compliance requirements through the lens of care.
• Experience interacting effectively with diverse communities.
• Working knowledge of federal and state gender/sex antidiscrimination laws and best practices.

Responsibilities

• Provide campus Civil Rights case consultation, oversight and policy guidance.
• Schedule regular check-ins with assigned campuses and conduct on-site visits as needed.
• Assist with responding to complaints and overseeing investigations.
• Collaborate on campus compliance reviews and data management.
• Oversee Title IX Coordinators’ compliance with CSU processes including intake, investigations, and resolutions.
