Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; must pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment.
• Associate degree or higher required from a PSC-approved college or university.
• Sixty (60) semester hours or ninety (90) quarter hours with GPA 2.0+ required.
• A valid PSC-approved paraprofessional certificate required.
• Ability to collaborate with teachers and follow IEP directives.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with physical and personal care needs per IEP and district policy.
• Provide health-related support and non-medical assistance as trained.
• Offer small group or one-on-one instruction per lesson plans.
• Assist with classroom management and behavior support.
• Support teachers with assessment tasks, data collection, and recordkeeping.
• Prepare instructional materials and ensure availability before lessons.
• Maintain confidentiality of student records per FERPA.
