Job summary

Peachcrest Elementary School in Decatur, GA, is seeking a Title I Kindergarten Paraprofessional for the 2026-2027 school year. This one-year position supports teachers in meeting academic, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.

The role includes assisting with IEP-based activities, small group and one-on-one instruction, and data collection under a certified teacher’s supervision. Requires GACE Paraprofessional, AA or higher preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED and pass the GACE Paraprofessional Assessment required.
• Associate degree or higher preferred.
• Sixty semester hours or ninety quarter hours with GPA 2.0+ from a PC-approved college.
• Valid paraprofessional certificate required.

Responsibilities

• Assists students with daily health-related care needs, hygiene and non-medical assistance.
• Provides small group and/or individualized instruction.
• Monitors students during non-instructional periods and supports classroom management.
• Assists with assessment of student performance and maintains records.
• Prepares instructional materials and ensures availability for scheduled segments.
• Maintains confidentiality of student records in compliance with FERPA.
