Job summary

Sam's Club in Battle Creek, MI is seeking an associate to support Tire and Battery Center operations. You will help maintain safety standards, stock and merchandize displays, and assist members with tire installation services.

The role emphasizes strong customer service, knowledge of Sam's Garage, and collaboration with the team to promote TBC offerings while handling purchases, returns, and service requests with integrity.

Qualifications

• Valid state-issued driver's license.
• 18 years of age or older.

Responsibilities

• Maintains facility and sales floor safety and standards by adhering to all safety policies and procedures, including conducting regular safety sweeps, following forklift and hazardous material handling requirements, and reporting unsafe situations.
• Ensures the Tire and Battery Center (TBC) sales floor is organized, stocked, zoned, and merchandised according to policy, including handling claims, returns, shrink, and damages.
• Monitors the status of tire and battery orders daily and assists members with installation appointments, communicates lead time changes and cancellations.
• Provides expert member service by greeting members, identifying needs, assisting with purchases and services, and explaining warranties using Sam’s Garage and product knowledge.
• Drives sales and service excellence in the TBC by promoting offerings and collaborating with the team to raise member awareness.
• Triages service workflow in TBC bays, prioritizes appointments, and coordinates with Team Lead or Technicians to meet service needs.
• Demonstrates knowledge of safety, TPMS, product specs, POS, and selling techniques; leverages digital tools to plan sales and improve service.
• Acts as a brand advocate, develops team members, and resolves issues with professionalism and empathy.
• Operates hardware (cash registers), processes member purchases, and handles payments, returns, refunds, and exchanges per policy.
