Job summary

Computer Enhancement Systems, Inc. in Frederick, MD is seeking a Tier II Network & Systems Support Engineer to resolve tickets and maintain client infrastructure across wireless networks, virtualized servers, Fortinet firewalls, VPNs, and Microsoft 365 environments.

Hybrid work arrangement: onsite two days per week, remote three days; after one year, a potential for full-time remote work. You will collaborate with Tier I on escalations and Tier III on larger projects, offering a clear path

Qualifications

• 1 year of hands-on experience in networking, systems administration, or MSP support.
• Working knowledge of wireless networking troubleshooting.
• Experience provisioning/maintaining VMs in a hypervisor environment.
• Familiarity with Fortigate or similar firewall platforms.
• Experience supporting VPN connections (site-to-site and/or remote access).
• Strong troubleshooting skills and ability to work independently.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and resolve escalated wireless networking issues.
• Provision and maintain virtual machines within existing hypervisor environments.
• Apply and troubleshoot Fortinet firewall rule changes; monitor security alerts and elevate anomalies.
• Troubleshoot and maintain site-to-site and remote-access VPN connections.
• Established cybersecurity checklists and best practices; respond to and elevate security alerts.
• Assist Tier III engineers on larger infrastructure or migration projects as needed.
