Job description

Description

The Digital Modernization Sector at Leidos is seeking a Tier II Incident Management Technician to support computer data communications systems, providing network event management and incident troubleshooting. Technicians ensure network devices meet baseline configurations, software, and network performance standards. They extensively use Microfocus tools, ServiceNow, and knowledge of the OSI model to complete daily network Operations and Maintenance (O&M) tasks.

The job duties of the GNOC Tier II Incident Management Technician include:

  • Supporting the installation and maintenance of the client Local Area Network (LAN)/Wide Area Network (WAN) devices.
  • Responding to, updating, and resolving incident tickets within ServiceNow.
  • Administering networks including hardware, systems software, applications software, and configurations.
  • Coordinating network operations, maintenance, repairs, or upgrades.
  • Performing configuration management functions such as validating topology drawings and asset management records.
  • Using knowledge of OSI layers 1, 2, and 3 to troubleshoot network faults and performance issues.
  • Configuring and troubleshooting layer two switching (VLANs).
  • Modifying and troubleshooting layer three routing across the enterprise network.
  • Conducting extensive troubleshooting of Multiprotocol Label Switch (MPLS) across the WAN.
  • Participating in evaluation of new network technologies and advising on their integration.
  • Developing and implementing plans for hardware and communications, including methodologies for analysis, testing, and support of LAN and WAN networks.
  • Using network tools such as Microfocus and Riverbed to identify and isolate network events.
  • Communicating and troubleshooting with vendors and service providers to resolve incidents efficiently.
  • Diagnosing hardware and software problems and coordinating replacements of defective components.

Requirements

  • Required Clearance: TS/SCI with CI Poly.
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience, which can include work history and education (e.g., a doctorate with 3 years, a master's with 4 years, a bachelor's with 6 years, an associate's with 8 years, or a high school diploma with 10 years).
  • Compliance with Department of Defense (DoD) 8570 Information Assurance Technical (IAT) Level 2.

Pay Range:
Pay Range $72,150.00 - $130,425.00
