Job summary

City of Amarillo is seeking an IT Support Specialist to deliver tier-2, on-site and remote assistance across the organization. You will troubleshoot software, hardware, and peripherals in a VMware/VDI environment and manage Active Directory with a strong focus on customer service.

Success requires 2+ years of IT experience, a working knowledge of Windows, AD, M365, and a willingness to participate in after-hours on-call rotations. A Texas driver license is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of two years of full-time IT experience in troubleshooting.
• Strong knowledge of Windows OS and Active Directory.
• Experience with VMware, M365 and VDI environments.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide onsite and remote tier-2 support for software, hardware and peripherals.
• Maintain IT help desk operations and strive for first-call resolution.
• Install, configure, test and document technology solutions.
• Support devices including desktops, printers and scanners.
• Assist departments in identifying technology needs and recommendations.
• Participate in after-hours on-call rotation and occasional extended hours.
