Job summary

Applied Industrial Technologies is seeking a Level 2 IT Support Specialist in the Portland metro area. You will own imaging, deployment, and onboarding of new hires, and provide desktop and CAD/engineering software support across the business.

The ideal candidate will troubleshoot Windows 11 issues, manage OEM utilities, and coordinate with Level 3 for complex infrastructure problems, while documenting solutions and maintaining strong customer service.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
• 2–4 years in Level 1/2 IT or desktop support.
• Strong experience with Windows 11 desktop OS.
• Experience imaging/deploying PCs (e.g., via SCCM).
• Experience troubleshooting wired/wireless endpoint connectivity (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, Wi‑Fi).
• Experience supporting OEM hardware utilities (Dell Command, Lenovo Vantage).
• Familiarity with CAD/engineering software applications.
• Experience with Active Directory / Microsoft Entra ID management.
• Strong customer service orientation; communicate tech concepts to non‑tech users.
• Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tickets simultaneously.
• Must live in Portland metro area; sponsorship not provided.
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Tier 2 escalation point for issues beyond Level 1 scope.
• Triage, diagnose, and resolve tickets within SLAs; escalate infrastructure issues to Level 3 with documented steps.
• Maintain detailed ticket records in the IT service management platform.
• Image, configure, and deploy PCs using standard corporate images and deployment tools.
• Install, configure, and troubleshoot OEM software and CAD/engineering tools; manage licenses.
• Install, configure, and support CAD/engineering software requiring license activation and tuning.
• Troubleshoot endpoint network connectivity (wired and wireless).
• Coordinate with Level 3/network team on infrastructure‑level issues.
• Prepare and image PCs for new hires; set up accounts and security agents.
• Create and maintain knowledge base articles; support continuous improvement.
