Job summary

The Helena Public Schools in Helena, Montana, has an immediate opening for a Tier I Help Desk Technician. You will serve as a central contact for staff and students, assisting with Office 365, Teams, PowerSchool, and basic hardware issues across 1,000 employees on 18 campuses.

You will join a team of 13, resolving many issues over the phone, generating work orders for escalations, and assisting with procurement and inventory.

Qualifications

• Associates Degree or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school.
• Two years related experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Experience with Office 365 (Teams, Word, Excel, Outlook) preferred.
• Strong problem-solving and customer-service skills.
• Ability to troubleshoot Windows, Mac, and Chromebooks.

Responsibilities

• Resolve 30 to 50 percent of issues via telephone or electronic communication.
• Generate work orders for repairs that cannot be made immediately.
• Assist with network documentation, security (virus protection and authentication).
• Monitor network traffic and respond to alarms; keep buildings informed.
• Assist the Technology Director with procurement and inventory records.
