Job summary

Zachary Piper Solutions is seeking a Help Desk Specialist to support mission-critical communications for national defense operations. This on-site role in Centennial, CO provides Tier 1 and Tier 2 support for enterprise systems to ensure operational availability in secure environments.

The candidate should have 2–8 years in similar roles, experience with Windows-based systems and networking (TCP/IP, VPN, DNS), and a DoD 8570–compliant certification.

Qualifications

• 2-8 years of experience in Help Desk/Technical Support/NOC/IT Operations environments.
• Experience with Windows-based systems, enterprise apps, and network infrastructure.
• Knowledge of TCP/IP, DNS, VPNs, routing, switching, and secure communications.
• Strong troubleshooting, documentation, incident management, and customer service skills.
• Bachelor's degree in IT/CS/Cybersecurity or related field preferred.
• Active Secret Clearance or ability to obtain/maintain Secret Clearance.
• Ability to obtain and maintain CAC.
• Security+, Network+, A+ or equivalent DoD 8570-compliant certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide Tier 1 and Tier 2 technical support for mission-critical communications systems, resolving hardware, software, application, and connectivity issues.
• Monitor, prioritize, and respond to support requests through ticketing and monitoring platforms to ensure timely issue resolution.
• Troubleshoot network and communications issues involving secure connectivity, application performance, and enterprise infrastructure.
• Support operational readiness by maintaining laboratory and test environments, assisting with mission initialization, and ensuring system availability.
• Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers and subject matter experts while documenting solutions and contributing to process improvements.
