Job description

Join Siemens and Build the Future of Rail Electrification

For more than 160 years, Siemens has helped power and connect America. Our Rail Electrification team supports operators with modern, networked solutions that move people and goods reliably. Now, we’re looking for a hands‑on assembler to help bring our rail communications equipment to life.

A Day in the Life

You start by grounding yourself in our ESD-controlled area, reviewing the day’s build plan and the Bill of Materials. You select resistors, relays, capacitors, transistors, and ICs, then populate printed circuit boards with precision. Through‑hole soldering is second nature; you also tackle surface‑mount work confidently. You trim and form leads, route wire, and solder undersides of boards to clean, reliable standards. Along the way, you partner with Quality to verify workmanship, keep your bench 5S-ready, and flag any deviation that could impact safety, quality, or productivity. When another line needs a hand, you jump in- because teamwork moves production forward.

What You’ll Do
  • Assemble rail communications PCB subassemblies from assembly prints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs
  • Handle components and boards within an ESD-safe environment
  • Select and place components (resistors, capacitors, relays, transistors, ICs) and populate PCBs
  • Form, bend, twist, and trim leads; crimp, strip, and solder wires
  • Perform through‑hole soldering and required underside wiring/solder joints
  • Execute SMT work; surface mount experience is necessary
  • Use hand and power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, hand drill) safely and effectively
  • Collaborate with the Quality team to meet workmanship and product standards
  • Maintain 5S discipline, equipment care, and a clean, organized work area
  • Work safely; immediately raise any issues that could impact safety, quality, or output
  • Contribute ideas for process improvement and waste elimination; participate in kaizen activities
  • Support other assembly teams as needed and demonstrate professional conduct with coworkers and customers
  • Report to a Production Supervisor and/or Team Leader; attend training to build skills
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ year of electro‑mechanical assembly experience
  • Basic soldering proficiency and comfort with computers
  • Clear written and verbal communication
  • Fluency with basic math and practical problem solving
It’s a Plus If You Have
  • At least one year in an electronics manufacturing environment
  • Component-level PCB soldering expertise
  • Familiarity with IPC standards: IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, or IPC-A-620
Proficiencies
  • PCB Assembly (Printed Circuit Board Assembly)
  • PCB Components (Printed Circuit Board Components)
  • Mechanical Assembly Skills
Why You’ll Love Siemens
  • 11 paid holidays and 18 days of PTO
  • 401(k) with 6% company match
  • Health, Dental, Vision, HSA/FSA, and Commuter Benefits starting Day 1
  • Innovate with purpose- your ideas can be rewarded through our programs
  • Tuition reimbursement, mentoring, and robust online learning- growth mindset in action
  • Work with a company recognized on the Fortune World's Most Admired Companies list
