Qualifications

  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to safety protocols and regulations at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble component parts and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and detailed work instructions while interpreting assembly documentation accurately.
  • Perform electrical assembly tasks including connecting wires between components, creating wire terminations, cutting wires to specified lengths, and routing, combing, twisting, wrapping, tying, and securing wiring to terminal points.
  • Safely operate hand and power tools while consistently meeting company standards for quality, workmanship, production schedules, quality requirements, and budgeted labor hours with limited supervision.
  • Complete work order documentation, quality records, and labor tracking accurately, while conducting work in compliance with established procedures and supporting fellow team members by explaining assembly techniques and best practices.
  • Follow all safety requirements, including proper PPE use, maintain a healthy and safe work environment, perform miscellaneous duties as assigned by leadership, and contribute to a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Position Overview:

As an Electrical Sub-Assembler I, you will support a broad range of activities in a dynamic, high energy production environment building electrical control racks, wire harnesses, and other sub-assemblies for the best rail vehicles in the world.

What will your day look like:
  • Assemble component parts and sub-assemblies according to engineering drawings, bills of materials, specifications, and detailed work instructions while interpreting assembly documentation accurately.
  • Perform electrical assembly tasks including connecting wires between components, creating wire terminations, cutting wires to specified lengths, and routing, combing, twisting, wrapping, tying, and securing wiring to terminal points.

What you need to be successful:
  • High school education or GED
  • Previous Electrical Assembly experience or similar

Physical demands:
  • Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to climb stairs, steps, and ladders
