Job summary

Siemens Mobility in Munhall, PA is seeking a hands-on assembler to bring rail communications equipment to life. You will ground in an ESD-controlled area, review build plans and BOMs, and assemble PCB subassemblies with precision.

You will perform through-hole and SMT soldering, place components, route wires, and work closely with Quality to ensure safety, quality, and productivity. A 1+ year background in electro-mechanical assembly is required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 1+ year electro-mechanical assembly experience.
• Basic soldering proficiency and comfort with computers.
• Clear written and verbal communication.
• Fluency with basic math and practical problem solving.

Responsibilities

• Assemble rail communications PCB subassemblies from prints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMs.
• Handle components and boards within an ESD-safe environment.
• Place components (resistors, capacitors, relays, transistors, ICs) and populate PCBs.
• Form, bend, twist, and trim leads; crimp, strip, and solder wires.
• Perform through-hole soldering and underside wiring/solder joints.
• Execute SMT work; surface mount experience is necessary.
• Use hand and power tools safely and effectively.
• Collaborate with Quality to meet workmanship and product standards.
• Maintain 5S discipline, equipment care, and a clean, organized work area.
• Work safely; raise any issues that could impact safety, quality, or output.
• Contribute ideas for process improvement and waste elimination; participate in kaizen activities.
• Support other assembly teams as needed and demonstrate professional conduct with coworkers and customers.
• Report to a Production Supervisor and/or Team Leader; attend training to build skills.
