Job summary

Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division in Lexington, NC, is seeking an Assembler Technician I to support final assembly of rail vehicles in a fast-paced production setting.

You will build, wire, and install components in passenger coaches, applying diagrams and blueprints while maintaining quality and safety standards. This role requires attention to detail and steady manual dexterity in a dynamic environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required or equivalent.
  • Basic English communication skills.
  • Knowledge reading blueprints/diagrams recommended.

Responsibilities

  • Build and assemble units in passenger coaches (roofs, cable harnesses, mounting parts).
  • Install mechanical components (insulation, seating, panels).
  • Route and connect electrical wiring to final termination points.
  • Work from blueprints, diagrams, parts lists and verbal instructions.
  • Use fine motor skills to assemble small parts with dexterity.

Position Overview:

Join the growing team at our world-class train manufacturing facility in Lexington, North Carolina. Siemens Mobility, Rolling Stock Division is the North American market leader in the production of passenger locomotives and coaches, and light rail vehicles. As an Assembler Technician I, you will support a broad range of mechanical and assembly activities in a dynamic, high energy, production environment in final assembly of the best rail vehicles in the world.

What your day-to-day will look like:
  • Build up and assemble units in passenger coaches such as, but not limited to, roofs, cable harnesses, mounted parts, electrical racks, and panels, including air supply racks and piping assemblies.
  • Apply adhesive, assemble, and align floor panels, windows, and door assemblies.
  • Install mechanical components such as insulation, sidewall panels, seating, and luggage racks.
  • Route and connect electrical wiring harnesses to final termination points and subassemblies.
  • Disassemble, modify, rework, refurbish, reassemble components as required.
  • Duties may consist of, but not limited to, working from production blueprints, wiring diagrams, parts lists, wire lists, sketches and verbal instructions to produce electrical or Electro-Mechanical subassemblies.
  • Frequently required to use fine motor skills, assembling some small parts with excellent dexterity.
To thrive in this role, you have:
  • High school education or state recognized GED, or equivalent combination of education and experience in a manufacturing or similar environment, such as electrical panel assembly, construction, automotive or electrical service industries.
  • Capable of basic written and verbal communication in English
  • Knowledge of reading of blueprints, diagrams and various part list is helpful.
Physical Demands:
  • Frequently walk, reach with hands and arms, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Frequently required to climb stairs, steps, and ladders
  • Frequently required to work on elevated platforms.
  • Perform work overhead.
  • Occasionally lift and move at most 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to focus.

The hourly rate for this position in Lexington, NC is $17.00 – $20.91. The hourly rate may be higher or lower depending on the budget and the candidate's experience, knowledge, skills, and qualifications.
