Join Siemens and Build the Future of Rail ElectrificationFor more than 160 years, Siemens has helped power and connect America. Our Rail Electrification team supports operators with modern, networked solutions that move people and goods reliably. Now, we’re looking for a hands-on assembler to help bring our rail communications equipment to life.A Day in the LifeYou start by grounding yourself in our ESD-controlled area, reviewing the day’s build plan and the Bill of Materials. You select resistors, relays, capacitors, transistors, and ICs, then populate printed circuit boards with precision. Through-hole soldering is second nature; you also tackle surface-mount work confidently. You trim and form leads, route wire, and solder undersides of boards to clean, reliable standards. Along the way, you partner with Quality to verify workmanship, keep your bench 5S-ready, and flag any deviation that could impact safety, quality, or productivity. When another line needs a hand, you jump in—because teamwork moves production forward. What You’ll DoAssemble rail communications PCB subassemblies from assembly prints, diagrams, engineering drawings, specifications, and BOMsHandle components and boards within an ESD-safe environmentSelect and place components (resistors, capacitors, relays, transistors, ICs) and populate PCBsForm, bend, twist, and trim leads; crimp, strip, and solder wiresPerform through-hole soldering and required underside wiring/solder jointsExecute SMT work; surface mount experience is necessaryUse hand and power tools (e.g., screwdrivers, hand drill) safely and effectivelyCollaborate with the Quality team to meet workmanship and product standardsMaintain 5S discipline, equipment care, and a clean, organized work areaWork safely; immediately raise any issues that could impact safety, quality, or outputContribute ideas for process improvement and waste elimination; participate in kaizen activitiesSupport other assembly teams as needed and demonstrate professional conduct with coworkers and customersReport to a Production Supervisor and/or Team Leader; attend training to build skillsWhat You BringHigh school diploma or equivalent1+ year of electro-mechanical assembly experienceBasic soldering proficiency and comfort with computersClear written and verbal communicationFluency with basic math and practical problem solvingIt’s a Plus If You HaveAt least one year in an electronics manufacturing environmentComponent-level PCB soldering expertiseFamiliarity with IPC standards: IPC-A-610, IPC-J-STD-001, or IPC-A-620ProficienciesPCB Assembly (Printed Circuit Board Assembly)PCB Components (Printed Circuit Board Components)Mechanical Assembly SkillsWhy You’ll Love Siemens11 paid holidays and 18 days of PTO401(k) with 6% company matchHealth, Dental, Vision, HSA/FSA, and Commuter Benefits starting Day 1Innovate with purpose—your ideas can be rewarded through our programsTuition reimbursement, mentoring, and robust online learning—growth mindset in actionWork with a company recognized on the Fortune World’s Most Admired Companies listEmployee discounts and perks on top of our generous time off and retirement benefitsBenefits details: https://www.benefitsquickstart.com/siemens/index.htmlCompensationThe base hourly range for this role in Munhall, PA is $16.40 to $21.30.
