Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a Sales Associate/Material Handler for our Seaside Thrift Store. This part-time role supports the retail team, handles donations, assists customers, and helps maintain a clean, organized store environment to promote a positive shopping and donor experience.

Responsibilities include greeting customers, stocking merchandise, processing donations, and operating the cash register, with a focus on teamwork and excellent service.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to operate POS/Cash Register.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items for the sales floor in accordance with Salvation Army standards.
• Sort donations for processing per Salvation Army standards.
• Maintain store cleanliness, order, and organization; perform cleaning duties as assigned.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies and ensure accurate cash handling.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently.
• Provide receipts to donors and assist with donation removal from vehicles.
