Job summary

The Salvation Army Seaside Thrift Store in Seaside, CA is hiring a Sales Associate/MATERIAL HANDLER to support the retail team, greet customers, process donations, stock shelves, and maintain a clean, organized store in line with TSA standards.

This position requires a high school diploma or equivalent, ability to lift up to 50 lbs, and the ability to pass a background check; it offers opportunities for career growth, PTO, and employee discounts.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent required.
• Must be able to operate POS/Cash Register.
• Background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry required.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items for sale floor in accordance with Salvation Army Standards.
• Sort donations to be processed in accordance with Salvation Army Standards.
• Maintain store cleanliness and organization and perform cleaning duties as assigned.
• Assist in donation trailer/pod area and provide receipts.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently.
• Follow POS/Cash Register Policies and TSA Procedures.
• Follow HR policies and workplace safety standards.
• Attend required Monthly Store Meetings.
