Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory Waipahu Thrift Store is seeking a part-time SALES ASSOCIATE/MATERIAL HANDLER to support customer and donor needs, stock merchandise, and keep the store and donation areas clean and organized. You will also follow POS policies, help with receipts, and ensure safety and compliance.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent, ability to pass background checks, and strong communication and teamwork skills.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greet customers and donors and provide courteous assistance.
• Stock priced items and merchandize on the sales floor.
• Maintain the store and donation area: keep it clean, neat, and organized; perform cleaning duties as assigned.
• Follow POS/Cash Register policies and TSA procedures.
• Maintain safety and compliance standards.
• Attend monthly store meetings.
• Receive, unload, and stock incoming inventory accurately.
• Provide QA by inspecting products for defects and damages.
• Assist donor in removing donated items and provide receipts.
• Sort donated materials into proper containers and stack as instructed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
