Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a part-time SALES ASSOCIATE/MATERIAL HANDLER at the Honolulu area thrift store. You will greet customers and donors, stock merchandise, maintain the sales floor and donation area, and ensure accurate cash handling per store policies.

You will participate in safety procedures, attend monthly meetings, assist with inventory and QA, and help provide a positive donor and shopper experience as part of our Retail Team.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass background check, including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow store employees, customers and donors.

Responsibilities

• Ensuring all Customers and Donors needs are met by a genuine greeting and courteous assistance.
• Stocking priced items ready to be merchandised on the sales floor.
• Maintaining the store and donation area, keeping it clean, neat and organized.
• Following POS/Cash Register Policies in accordance with TSA Policies and Procedures.
• Maintaining safety and compliance standards.
• Attending Monthly Store Meetings.
• Receiving, unloading, and stocking incoming inventory items accurately and efficiently.
• Providing Quality Assurance by inspecting products for defects and damages.
• Assisting donor with removal of donated items from vehicle and providing receipts.
• Separating and sorting donated material into proper containers and stacking as instructed.
• Performing other duties as assigned by Management.
