Job summary

The Salvation Army USA Western Territory is seeking a part-time Sales Associate/Material Handler at the Hemet Thrift Store. The role supports the Adult Rehabilitation Program by delivering friendly customer service, merchandising, donation processing, and cashier duties in a fast-paced retail environment.

Responsibilities include stocking, inventory, QA checks, and assisting donors with receipts and item removal.

Qualifications

• High School diploma/GED or equivalent.
• Must be able to accurately handle POS/Cash Register operations and cash transactions.
• Must pass background check including Criminal History and Sex Offender Registry.
• Ability to communicate effectively with management, fellow employees, customers, and donors.

Responsibilities

• Greets customers and donors warmly and provides prompt, courteous assistance.
• Stocks priced items ready for merchandising on the sales floor.
• Maintains store and donation area; cleans and organizes as directed.
• Follows POS/Cash Register policies and TSA procedures.
• Maintains safety and compliance standards.
• Attends monthly store meetings.
• Receives and stocks incoming inventory accurately.
• Inspects products for defects and damages for QA.
• Assists donors with removing donated items and provides receipts.
• Separates and stacks donated materials in proper containers per management.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
