Job summary

Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus invites qualified RNs to join the J5-2 Thoracic Surgery Stepdown Unit, a fast-paced environment delivering expert patient care. You will participate in a residency curriculum and work alongside a dedicated care team to ensure safety and quality across all shifts.

Minimum requirements include graduating from an accredited nursing program, RN licensure, BLS, and ACLS within one year. New grads or nurses with less than one year of experience are welcome to apply.

Qualifications

• Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing.
• Current state licensure as a Registered Nurse (RN).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA).
• Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) upon or within first year of hire.
• New graduate RN or less than one year of RN work experience.

Responsibilities

• Participate in a residency core curriculum based on individual learning needs.
• Provide direct nursing care alongside a success coach.
• Establish and/or revise priorities for patient care (acuity of need, patient preference and resource availability).
• Respond to data indicating risk to patients’ health and initiate action to correct, reduce or prevent risk.
• Seek supervision, consultation and assistance when unable to perform safely and independently.
• Document in patients’ medical records.
