Job summary

The RN - Cardiovascular Surgery Stepdown at Cleveland Clinic’s Main Campus provides expert nursing care to post-open heart, surgical, and ventricular assist device patients. This full-time, day shift role is located in Cleveland, OH, within the J53 Cardiovascular Telemetry Unit.

You will develop and update patient care plans, monitor conditions, administer medications, educate families, and coordinate safe discharges in a fast-paced environment dedicated to compassionate care.

Qualifications

• Education: Graduate from an accredited school of professional nursing (Diploma, ADN or BSN) required.
• BSN degree preferred.
• Experience: One year of current acute care RN experience or licensed military RN experience required.
• Licenses & Certifications: Current RN licensure. BLS certification required.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct nursing care.
• Implement, monitor, evaluate, update and revise patient care plans.
• Monitor, record, document and communicate patients’ conditions.
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments.
• Note and carry out physician and nursing orders.
• Assess and coordinate patients’ discharge needs.
• Educate patients and their families.
