Qualifications

• Prior forklift operator/dock/warehouse/material handler experience preferred.
• Forklift certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Load and unload freight onto and off equipment, assist in recouping damaged freight.
• Prepare, sweep, inspect and clean trailers before loading freight; use safe lifting techniques.
• Select and use proper freight handling equipment (forklifts, hand trucks, pallet jacks, etc.).
• Weigh and dimension shipments; plan cube utilization and weight distribution.
• Count and inspect freight; document shortages or damage; review freight bills.
• Check manifests, labels, destination codes; verify hazmat details and placarding.
• Block and brace freight to prevent shifting during transport.
