Job summary

Foley Equipment’s ThinkBIG Internship program begins in June 2027 for aspiring diesel technicians. It blends hands-on work on Caterpillar equipment with classroom study, earning an Associate of Applied Science degree and more than 2,000 hours of work experience.

The two-year paid internship rotates between ThinkBIG school and Foley locations, typically 7–8 weeks per rotation, with housing arranged by students and opportunities to transition to full-time technician roles after program completion.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Mechanical aptitude is expected.
• Willingness to participate in Caterpillar curriculum and ThinkBIG training.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Foley's safety culture and learn shop procedures.
• Work with mentors to understand system workings, processes, and safety requirements.
• Attend school while maintaining program grade requirements and thinkBIG participation.
• Complete and submit all assignments related to internship.
• Travel occasionally for training or to assist at other Foley locations.
