Foley Equipment offers the Caterpillar ThinkBIG intern program designed to train aspiring diesel technicians through hands-on work with Caterpillar equipment and formal schooling. The two-year rotation combines school time with paid industry experience at Foley locations, with housing arranged near campuses and work sites.

Interns earn compensation for hours worked, gain over 2,000 hours of experience, and earn an Associate of Applied Science degree through partner institutions.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Curiosity and willingness to learn the Caterpillar curriculum.
• Long-term career orientation with stability.
• Mechanical aptitude and potential background in automotive or military training.

Responsibilities

• Adhere to Foley's safety‑first culture.
• Work with mentors to learn shop procedures and safety requirements.
• Attend school and maintain minimum program grades; stay in good standing with ThinkBIG.
• Complete and submit all assignments, including internship tasks.
• Occasional travel to training or Foley locations.
