Job summary

The Thermodynamic HVAC Engineer at Vertiv is part of the Thermal Management team within the Engineering and R&D Department, preferably based in Columbus OH (Westerville, OH). The position reports to an Engineering Manager, and the research and development scope is on global products supporting Chilled Water Systems product line.

You will lead design efforts, collaborate with Marketing, Procurement and Industrial Engineering, and ensure CAD drawings, specifications and BOMs are accurate.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 3–5 years of HVAC experience, ideally with liquid chillers design.
• Excellent knowledge of thermodynamics and refrigeration principles.
• English – Intermediate level, written and spoken.
• Motivation with leadership abilities.
• Willing to travel as needed.

Responsibilities

• Manage the development of new R&D products in the data center cooling sector for high profile global datacenter customers.
• Work in a multi-disciplinary engineering team on global products focusing on high performance, cost effective design and market-leading innovation.
• Lead the design of new products or re-engineer existing ones, collaborating with Marketing, Procurement and Industrial Engineering.
• Approve and review product documentation (CAD drawings, specifications, bills of material).
• Meet objectives of cost, quality, environment and time of execution, achieving best trade-offs.
• Analyze and resolve technical problems related to products under responsibility.
