Job summary

Intralox, LLC, a division of Laitram, seeks a Mechanical Engineer to join its ThermoDrive Engineering Team in New Orleans, LA. You will lead new product development, define specs from commercial needs, and collaborate with a global team of project managers, technicians, and engineers.

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering, 3–5 years in new product development or machine design, hands-on problem solving, SolidWorks CAD and EPDM experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• BS in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 3–5 years of new product development and/or machine design.
• Hands-on problem solving with a proactive ownership mindset.
• Strong communication and collaboration across multi-disciplinary teams.
• Proficient SolidWorks CAD and EPDM experience.
• Self-managed with the ability to lead projects and coordinate stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Support ideation of new products by deriving specs from commercial needs.
• Collaborate across a global team including project managers, fabrication technicians, test engineers, and commercial personnel.
• Own projects through design, prototyping, validation, and manufacturability.
• Design components and assemblies in SolidWorks; document work.
• Coordinate with external suppliers and internal manufacturing teams.
• Lead or participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
• Work with customers with account managers to test products.
• Create fabrication/assembly manuals and test plans.
• Develop training for Production, Maintenance, and Field personnel.
