Job summary

Intralox, LLC seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer for the New Product Development Department in New Orleans. The role focuses on bringing ideas into reality through design and implementation of new products and solutions across multiple industries.

The candidate will work onsite in New Orleans, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and own design discussions from concept through production, ensuring performance, reliability and manufacturability of solutions.

Qualifications

Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
8+ years of engineering design experience.
Solid modeling experience in SolidWorks, Pro-E, Inventor, or similar.
Proven ability to perform technical analysis and optimization.
Excellent written and verbal communication; MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

Communicate with team members, dept reps, and customers on problem definitions, scope and status.
Develop test plans to evaluate performance of materials, products, and solutions.
Participate in design reviews and brainstorming sessions.
Own new product design discussions from concept through implementation with performance, reliability, and manufacturability considerations.
Create engineering documentation including design intents, test reports, and project reports.
Evaluate and interpret test data to determine product life and performance expectations.
Create complete 3D CAD models including full product assemblies.
Participate in project scoping, specification development, prototyping, testing, field testing and release processes.
