Job summary

Advanced Micro Devices, Inc. in Austin, TX is seeking an experienced Thermal Mechanical Engineer to support development, characterization, and validation of server and computing platforms.

You will perform hands-on thermal testing, CFD analysis, and system-level debugging while collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimize platform thermal performance. The ideal candidate has hands-on experience in thermal characterization, CFD modeling, lab testing, and hardware debugging, capable of

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
• Hands-on experience with thermal characterization, CFD modeling, lab testing, and hardware debugging.
• Ability to independently investigate complex thermal/mechanical issues and drive resolution.
• Experience with server, computing, or complex electronic systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform system-level thermal characterization, validation, and debug of server and computing platforms.
• Set up and use thermal/mechanical lab equipment including thermocouples, anemometers, power meters, environmental chambers, and Instron equipment.
• Conduct CFD modeling and thermal analysis to support system design and optimization.
• Debug thermal and mechanical issues during platform bring-up, validation, and production.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve issues and support platform development.
