Job summary

Langham Recruitment is recruiting a Mechanical Design Engineer for an advanced materials company in Billerica, MA. You will develop CAD models, drawings and documentation to integrate TIMs into electronic packages, and collaborate on prototyping, testing and thermal analysis.

The role targets early-career engineers with 0–3 years of experience, offering hands-on design work, data-driven validation and cross-functional teamwork in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline.
• 0–3 years of professional experience; internships/co-ops encouraged.
• Proficiency in 3D CAD modelling and engineering drawings using SolidWorks or Creo.
• Working understanding of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T).
• Experience with prototyping, testing, fixture assembly and troubleshooting.
• Solid foundation in heat transfer and electronics packaging principles.
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills; able to document findings clearly.
• Good communication and collaborative mindset in a fast-moving team.

Responsibilities

• Create CAD models, drawings and fabrication docs to integrate liquid-metal-based TIMs into electronic packages.
• Prototype, instrument and test package mock-ups and fixtures; evaluate design feasibility across thermomechanical tests.
• Set up and perform thermal and mechanical tests; analyze data and write technical reports.
