Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Manager for the Energy & Resources line to lead multi-discipline teams on thermal generation projects. The role covers Owner’s Engineer or design services for simple cycle, combined cycle, and repowering projects across North America.

You will guide teams, manage client expectations, and contribute to business development. Responsibilities include coordinating with leadership and stakeholders, maintaining project controls, and mentoring staff.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering.
• 15+ years of experience on power generation projects (Owner’s Engineer or detailed engineering/design).
• 5+ years in business development or as a seller-doer.
• PE license preferred but not required.
• Office-based role with travel across multiple offices/geographies.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management expertise to our team.
• Manage energy projects/programs.
• Contribute to PM best practices and methodology.
• Coordinate with leadership, discipline leads, clients, vendors and sub-contractors.
• Coordinate with leadership to ensure alignment of project execution.
• Support client relationship management and coaching staff.
• Monitor resources, schedule, budget, and quality.
• Identify and address project execution gaps with leadership.
• Lead or support proposals; mentor junior staff.
• Achieve annual utilization targets.
