Job summary

Description:

Department: Respiratory Therapy.

Average number of treatments is 2 per shift depending on census, with assignments made based on acuities.Approximately 25-30 acuities are expected per shift.Required certifications include BLS, PALS, NRP, ACLS, and a valid respiratory therapy license.Electronic Medical Record system used is Cerner.Charge Nurse and Lead Therapist will handle administrative tasks and assist with treatments.The Lead Therapist is present 1-2 days per week.Weekend work is required every other weekend.Employees will work into the permanent staff holiday schedule.The required scrub color is black.Experience with ventilators is necessary.In-house hospitalists and intensivists are available, but not 24/24.Respiratory Therapy services are available 24/7.Pharmacy services are available in-house until 10 PM, with 24/7 access to off-site pharmacy after hours for auto verification.Shifts run from 6:30 AM to 6:30 PM for both day and night shifts.Floor-specific orientation will vary from 1 to 3 days based on experience.The patient population typically requires respiratory therapy for various diagnoses.The facility allows cancellation of up to 4 shifts during a 13-week assignment.Charting system utilized is Cerner.A Bachelor of Science in Nursing is not required.
